The Power Bank That Made The Spark Look Twice

The Power Bank That Made The Spark Look Twice

Author: Michael Faraday | Technical Director at ZEEHOO, with deep expertise and extensive experience in wireless charging technology.

We're excited to share this hands-on review from YouTuber The Spark!

Mark from The Spark has an obsession with power banks. He says so himself. Whenever a new one promises to do something interesting, he wants to get his hands on it. That is exactly what brought him to the ZEEHOO MagAir, and his unboxing and first look covers more ground than most full reviews.

This is not a performance test. Mark is upfront about that. ZEEHOO sent him the unit, and he walks through the unboxing, the design, and the features ZEEHOO says it offers. But his level of detail and honesty makes this one of the most thorough first looks you will find.

10,000mAh of Power in a Substantial but Justified Body

Mark starts with the basics. The MagAir is a 10,000mAh magnetic power bank. It weighs around 225 grams and is about 23 millimeters thick. He calls it "fairly substantial."

But he immediately puts that in context. You are getting more capacity and more functionality than those ultra-slim models. The thickness is the trade-off for semi solid state battery tech, three-device charging, a built-in stand, a digital display, and an integrated cable. When you add up what is packed inside, the size makes sense.

Free Replacement Warranty Signals Real Confidence

One detail Mark notices during the unboxing that most reviewers would skip. The instruction book includes an offer for a free replacement for any issue. You scan a QR code for details and snap a pic to save it for later.

Mark points out that this suggests ZEEHOO is pretty confident about this product. A company does not offer free replacements unless they believe the thing is going to hold up. It is a small detail, but it tells you something about how ZEEHOO views the quality of what they are shipping.

Semi Solid State Battery Tech Explained by Someone Who Has Done It Before

This is where Mark's experience sets his review apart. He mentions this is not the first semi solid state power bank he has featured on the channel. A few months earlier, he made a video with a different brand where he went into more detail about how the technology works.

He explains the basics clearly. A traditional lithium-ion battery, the kind used in most phones and power banks, uses a liquid or gel-based electrolyte. That electrolyte is the material inside the battery that allows ions to move between the positive and negative sides during charging and discharging. A true solid state battery replaces that liquid electrolyte with a solid material.

In theory, solid state batteries offer better safety, better lifespan, better energy density, and improved thermal performance. Mark notes ZEEHOO also provides protection against overcharging, overheating, excessive current, short circuits, and voltage input issues.

Digital Display Beats Four Little Lights

Mark appreciates the digital display on the front of the MagAir. It shows the remaining battery percentage. He makes the point that this is much more useful than four little lights where you are trying to remember whether three lights means 74% or 51%.

You know exactly how much power you have left. No guessing. That matters when you are heading out the door and need to decide whether to top up first.

Qi2.2 Wireless Charging With a Raised Module Nobody Else Has

The MagAir supports Qi2.2 magnetic wireless charging up to 25W. But what Mark finds most interesting is that the wireless charging section is slightly raised away from the main body of the power bank. He says he has never seen that before.

He theorizes that this might be designed to give more clearance and allow the power bank to sit properly against a wider range of phones. He also suggests it might help with cooling during wireless charging, since the design creates a bit of an air gap that could help with heat dissipation.

Mark is careful to note that ZEEHOO has not specifically said this. It is his own theory. But it is the kind of observation that comes from someone who has handled enough power banks to notice when a design choice breaks from the norm.

45W Wired Charging and a Lanyard That Is Also a Cable

For wired charging, the USB-C output is rated up to 45W. Mark says that should provide enough power for fast charging compatible phones, tablets, and various other USB-C devices.

He also points out the lanyard cable, which provides another wired connection without requiring you to carry a separate cable. The strap you would use to carry the power bank is itself a charging cable. You always have a cable with you, and it is not a separate thing to lose.

Three Devices at Once With a Low Current Mode

Between the magnetic charging pad, the USB-C port, and the lanyard cable, ZEEHOO says the MagAir can charge up to three devices simultaneously. Mark notes that ZEEHOO's website claims up to 15W per device when all three are connected, implying a theoretical combined output of 45W.

He is honest about the limitation. ZEEHOO does not explain exactly how the power is divided between the three outputs, so he would not assume every device will receive a constant 15W. Even so, it means you could charge a phone, some earbuds, and another device from a single power bank.

Mark also calls out the low current charging mode. Holding the power button for about two seconds activates it. This prevents the power bank from automatically switching off when a connected device is not drawing enough current. It is designed for smaller devices like earbuds, smart rings, and other accessories that do not pull much power. Without this mode, most power banks shut down and your earbuds stop charging halfway through.

Pass-Through Charging and a Built-In Stand

Two more features round out the review. The MagAir supports pass-through charging, which means you can recharge the power bank while it continues supplying power to another connected device. This is the feature that solves the one-outlet hotel room problem.

And the section on the back folds out to become a stand. You can position the phone for watching a video, taking a call, or using the iPhone's StandBy mode while it charges.

Final Thoughts

Mark's first look at the ZEEHOO MagAir covers more ground than most full reviews. The 10,000mAh capacity and 225-gram weight are justified by what is packed inside. The free replacement warranty signals confidence. The semi solid state battery technology offers better safety, lifespan, and thermal performance. The digital display removes the guessing game. The raised wireless charging module is a design choice nobody else has made. 45W wired charging handles tablets and other USB-C devices. Three-device charging with low current mode covers your full gadget lineup. And pass-through charging with a built-in stand handles the practical scenarios that actually matter.

Mark leaves a link in the description that should give you 25% off at checkout. If you want a closer look at the MagAir, that is where to find it.
